Scallopini

This year my Scallopini are sharing the garden with Giant Russian sunflowers.

Sunflowers

Each sunflower flower head is a capitulum or cluster of perfect trumpet shaped flowers.

The flowers open in a spiral pattern from the outside in feeding our pollinators over a long time.

Apple cucumbers

How fun!! A house from seed -and one you can eat. Apple cucumbers are a real sweet summer treat.

Corn

Each tassel once fertilised grows into one corn kernel. Corn is wind pollinated. The pollen is produced on the top of the plant and is blown/shaken down to the waiting tassels.

Crookneck squash

One of the most beautiful squash to look at and to eat all summer long.
